Charlotte Location Adds New Partner and Staff Members

North Carolina – Rives & Associates, LLP, a Certified Public Accounting Firm serving clients throughout the region, is pleased to announce that W. Christopher Chesson, CPA has joined the firm as a partner. In addition, the firm also announces that Evan Rives, and Clay Mitchell have joined the firm as associates.

Chris Chesson comes to the firm with over 20 years of experience in the accounting field, and most recently with a national firm. Mr. Chesson’s primary focus is in the fields of taxation, accounting, auditing, and advisory services. Mr. Chesson directs a general tax practice and is responsible for monitoring and commenting on current tax developments in order to offer clients creative and practical advice on tax issues. Mr. Chesson is a graduate of Western Carolina University, earned his CPA designation in the State of North Carolina, serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Arc of Davidson County, as well as involvement with various other charitable organizations. Mr. Chesson is a member of the AICPA, the NCACPA, and is also licensed as a CPA in five other states throughout the southern US.

Evan Rives joins the firm as a senior associate with 3 years experience in public accounting while with a national firm. Mr. Rives provides a broad range of assurance services, financial statement reporting and tax preparation. Mr. Rives is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance, and is currently pursuing his CPA designation. Mr. Rives is a resident of Huntersville where he serves on a committee for a national education foundation.

Clay Mitchell is a graduate of University of North Carolina, Charlotte where he earned his Bachelors of Science degrees in Accounting and Marketing. Mr. Mitchell joins the firm as an associate with experience in the private sector preparing sales and income tax returns for a multinational corporation. Mr. Mitchell’s practice focuses on tax, and assurance services, including financial statement reporting. He is currently in pursuit of his CPA designation.
